An antique lever action rifle with full length magazine and case color hardened finish steel forearm cap. The 26 inch round blued steel barrel is chambered for the .45-70 Government cartridge and is built with both a Lyman "Combination Tang Peep Sight" and a barrel mounted semi-buckhorn rear sight and a nickel-silver blade front sight. Top of the barrel is marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE / WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U S.A" and near the receiver "CAL 45-70". The case color finish frame's lower tang has the rifle's serial number "54395". The nicely figured checkered walnut stock has a 13-1/4" length of pull to a hard rubber Winchester butt plate marked "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO."
