A pair of sidelock ejector shotguns with new extra barrel sets. The original barrels of gun number 1 (1/A) are 28" nitro proved round blacked steel barrels with 2-3/4" chambers, with multi-chokes and a tapered, smooth concave game rib and have been sleeved by Boss (bottom of the left barrel is marked "SLEEVED BY BOSS". The new barrels by Boss from 1998 (1/B) are 28" nitro proved round blacked steel barrels with 2-3/4" chambers, choked Skeet & Improved Cylinder and a tapered, smooth concave game rib. The original barrels of gun number 2 (2/A) are 28" nitro proved round blacked steel barrels with 2-3/4" chambers, choked Modified and Improved Modified and a tapered, smooth concave game rib and have been sleeved by Boss (bottom of the left barrel is marked "SLEEVED BY BOSS". The new barrels by Boss from 1998 (1/B) are 28" nitro proved round blacked steel barrels with 2-3/4" chambers, choked Skeet & Improved Cylinder and a tapered, smooth concave game rib. The tops of all barrels are marked "BOSS & Co. 13, DOVER STREET, PICCADILLY, LONDON. W.1.". Barrel (1/A) near the breech has a gold-inlaid "1 with a star" while (1/B) has a gold-inlaid "1". Barrel (2/A) near the breech has a gold-inlaid "2 with a star" while (1/B) has a gold-inlaid "2". The action bodies are adorned with traditional rose bouquets and scrolls with coin finish. Both the right and left lockplates are engraved "BOSS & CO", blacked, engraved top levers with gold-inlaid "1" and "2" and "SAFE" in gold on top tang ahead of engraved and checkered slide safeties with the left side thumbpieces being checkered. The actions are fitted with single triggers protected by an engraved, right side rolled trigger guards, disc-set strikers, gas vents, cocking indicators and non-automatic safeties. A well figured reddish-brown walnut stocks with checkered English straight hand grips, engraved stock oval - "BSD" in script and black leather covered recoil pads. The straight hand grips are supported by long engraved bottom straps with serial numbers. Splinter fore-ends with matching checkering, engraved escutcheons and diamonds with "1" and "2" gold inlays and Anson style push button releases. 14-3/4" LOP's to 1" black leather covered recoil pads. The shotguns are presented in the maker's oak and leather trunk case with canvas cover.
