This handsome rifle is from Chapuis' Grand Luxe Collection. A "Progress" boxlock double rifle that is fit with 23.62" (600 mm) blued steel barrels equipped with ejectors and chambered for the .470 NE cartridge. The engraved integral quarter rib is fit with rear express sights with 1 unmarked standing and 3 folding leaves marked 100, 150 & 200. Front sight is a tipped blade with a folding moon sight protector. The top quarter rib reads "EXPRESS CHAPUIS ARMES FRANCE". The left barrel is roll stamped with the importers details. Bottom of barrels rib is fit with a stud for sling. The coin finished bolstered double scalloped "Progress" boxlock action features double parallel locking underlugs, disc set strikers, gas escapes, Blitz-type battery double triggers, an engraved and checkered top lever, "S" on top strap ahead of the checkered thumb safe slide and is non-auto safe. The double triggers are protected by a lightly scroll engraved right side beaded edge trigger guard that extends to the grip cap. Chapuis deep cut Royal-style motif (Acanthus leaf engraving pattern on stippled ground) adorns the action body with an "al bulino" Cape Buffalo trophy head on the bottom of the action body. The stock is hand-rubbed oil finished AAA fancy walnut with a point pattern checkered pistol grip that has an engraved steel grip cap, English-style oval cheekpiece, stud for sling on toe line and a 14-1/2" LOP over a brown Decelerator rubber recoil pad. Barrels are fit with a semi-beavertail forend that is similarly checkered with Deeley style lever release. Rifle comes with makers ABS case.
