A 16 gauge sidelock game gun with 28" blacked round nitro proved barrels that are fit with ejectors, a tapered smooth concave game rib and a steel bead front sight. Proved for 2-1/2" cartridges and choked modified & full. The rib is marked "W.C. CARSWELL. EXCHANGE BUILDING. CHAPEL ST. LIVERPOOL." The action body and lockplates are adorned with traditional Rose & Scroll engraving with a patina case color hardened finish (more in protected areas). The lockplates are engraved "W. C. CARSWELL" by action bars. Gold-inlaid "1" on top lever, rib near breech and fore-end tip. The action is fit with a concealed third fastener, assisted opening mechanism, beaded fences, blacked engraved top lever with left side checkered thumbpiece and automatic safety with gold-inlaid "SAFE" ahead of the blued, checkered and engraved safety slide. The double triggers are protected by a blacked engraved trigger guard ending in a long bottom strap with serial number. Best quality walnut stock with straight hand grip, vacant gold stock oval and splinter fore-end with Anson type push button release. 14-1/4" LOP to a scored butt, 5 Lbs. 11 Oz.
