The 28” blacked steel barrels that are fit with extractors, 2-1/2” chambers, tapered smooth concave game rib with a brass bead front sight and are choked Skeet and Improved Modified. Top of rib near breech is roll marked "W.R PAPE, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE." Barrel flats have Birmingham nitro proof marks. Patina case color hardened finish boxlock action is adorned with partial coverage English Arabesque scroll engraving with "W. R. PAPE" in banner on both sides of the action body. The action body is fit with Greener type crossbolt third fastener, double triggers protected by an engraved trigger guard which extends to an engraved long botton strap, the left side thumb piece of the engraved top lever is checkered, "SAFE" engraved ahead of the automatic checkered safety slide. Best quality walnut stock with straight hand grip, point pattern checkering and a vacant stock oval. Splinter fore-end with matching checkering and Deeley type lever release, 14-5/8" LOP to a scored wooden buttplate, 5 Lbs. - 6 Oz. Gun resides in the makers single canvas trunk case with leather trim.
