An English made boxlock double rifle chambered for the .470 Nitro Express cartridge. It has a 26” blacked steel rifled barrels fit with extractors, full length matted rib with dolls head rib extension, Trijicon red dot rear sight, tipped blade front sight. Top of the right barrel is roll marked "'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO LONDON" while top of the left barrel is roll marked "MADE EXPRESSLY FOR LYON & LYON CALCUTTA". Barrels flats stamped with Birmingham proofs. The patina boxlock action with blacked bottom cover plate with border scrolls is engraved on both sides of the action body with game scenes of big cats with supporting border scrolls and "WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO". The action is fitted with a non-automatic safety with "SAFE" gold-inlaid ahead of the scored slide safe, smooth blade double triggers protected by a blacked border engraved trigger guard that extends to a full-length bottom strap with the serial number. Reddish-brown walnut stock with beaded cheekpiece, point pattern checkered pistol grip, grip with engraved steel grip cap, vacant stock oval. Point pattern checkered Splinter fore-end with horn tip and Deeley style lever release, 15” LOP over a 3/4" "Decelerator" rubber recoil pad, 11 Lbs. - 1 Oz.
