It has a 26-inch blacked steel barrels fit with ejectors, full length rib with doll's head rib extension, gold-lined express rear sights, one standing regulated for 100 yards and three folding leaves regulated for 200, 300 and 400 yards and a white tipped blade front sight. The right barrel is roll marked "WESTLEY RICHARDS. 178. NEW BOND ST. LONDON." while the left barrel is roll marked "W.R HIGH VELOCITY NITRO EXPRESS RIFLE .450 BORE. 70. GRS. CORDITE." "480 GRS. BULLET.". Top of the rib is gold-inlaid "WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO". Barrels flats stamped with Birmingham proofs. The case color hardened droplock action with blacked bottom cover plate is engraved with fine English Arabesque scrolls, gold-inlaid "WESTLEY RICHARDS" in a banner on both sides of the action body and has carved fences. The bottom cover plate is engraved with an elephant game scene. The action is fitted with a bolted non-automatic safety with gold-inlaid "SAFE" engraved ahead of the checkered slide safe, gold-inlaid "BOLTED" ahead of the safety slide, gold-inlaid "WESTLEY RICHARDS EJECTOR" on top of the action body ahead of the top lever, double triggers with smooth blades protected by a blacked trigger guard with an engraved lion on the trigger bow that extends to a full-length bottom strap with the serial number. Nicely figured reddish-brown walnut stock with checkered stock panels, pistol grip with case color hardened and engraved grip cap, drop points, fine point pattern checkering with borders, beaded cheekpiece, eye for sling on toe line of buttstock, vacant stock oval, Splinter fore-end similarly checkered with horn tip and case color hardened and engraved Deeley style lever release. 15” LOP over a 7/8" leather covered recoil pad, 9 Lbs. - 15 Oz. Rifle resides in the makers oak & leather trunk case.
