Composed pair of 12 gauge sidelock ejector game guns. Both blacked round 28" chopper lump nitro proved steel barrels with ejectors, 2-1/2" chambers, choked Improved Cylinder and Improved Modified and a tapered, smooth, concave game rib with a steel front beads. Ribs are engraved "J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDELY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON.". Ribs near the breeches with "1" and "2" in gold. The case color hardened finished action bodies are adorned with rose bouquets and scrolls and beaded fences. The bottoms of the lockplates are engraved "J PURDEY & SONS LONDON ENGLAND". Blacked scroll engraved top levers with "1" and "2" in gold inside an oval with both sides checkered thumb pieces and "SAFE" gold inlay on top tangs ahead of engraved and checkered slide safties. The Beesley assisted opening sidelock actions are fit with smooth, fire blued double triggers protected by engraved trigger guards, cocking indicators, disc-set strikers and automatic safeties. Well figured reddish-brown walnut stocks with checkered English straight hand grips and drop points. The straight hand grips are supported by long engraved bottom straps with serial numbers. Splinter forends with matching checkering and Anson style push button releases. The exterior steel of forends are similarly engraved. Forend tips with "1" & "2" in gold. 15-1/2" LOP's to a 1/2" leather covered recol pad. Guns reside in the makers double leather motor case.
