Bolt rifle chambered for the .338 Winchester magnum cartridge by Winchester. It has a 25” round steel blued barrel. The barrel is fitted with folding adjustable leaf U-notch rear sight and a ramped hooded blade front sight. The pre-64 action features a single serrated blade trigger, 3-position wing safety and a hinged magazine floorplate. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Markings on the rifle include on the left side of the barrel "MADE IN U.S.A." / "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL"; "WINCHESTER / "TRADE MARK”; MODEL-70"; ".338 WIN MAGNUM" with “WP” in oval, Found again on the left side of the receiver, which is also marked “WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK”, the right side has the serial number. Select quality walnut stock with pistol hand grip, Monte-Carlo comb, point pattern checkering with borders, similarly checkered forearm and loops for sling on both the toe line of the buttstock and underside of forearm. 13-5/8" LOP to a 3/4" Winchester red rubber recoil pad, 8 Lbs. - 2-1/4 Oz.
