An antique lever action carbine with full length magazine and two barrel bands. The 20 inch round steel barrel is chambered for .44 caliber and is built with an adjustable ladder rear sight with "1873" marked at top and barleycorn front sight. Top of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING-ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CT. / KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH-29. 1866. OCTOBER 16.1860. The left side of the yellow brass color bronze alloy "gun metal" frame is fit with a saddle ring. The rifle's lower tang is marked with the serial number "157493" in script between the lever latch and tang screw. The smooth stock has a 13-3/8" length of pull to a modified shotgun "carbine" brass butt plate with sliding trap.
