A Hammer Underlever 12 Gauge shotgun made circa 1887. It has a 30” nitro proved barrels and matted game rib. The right barrel is marked, Frederick T. Baker 21 Cockspur St & 88 Fleet St London", Left barrel is marked, "Sir Joseph Whittorth's Fluid Pressed Steel." Modern Birmingham Nitro proof with the proper reproof marks from 1982, Modern proved for 2 3/4" cartridges at proof pressure of 3 1/4 Tons per Square Inch, as well as old original London black powder proofs, Chokes at Modified (Right) & Multi-Choke (Left). Scrolls with "Fred.C.T.Baker" engraved in a banner on both lock plates with bright finish, Double triggers, Best quality walnut stock, traditional English straight hand grip, Splinter forend with lever release, 14 7/8" LOP over a 1” leather covered pad, Cast Off 1/4” at face, 7 Lbs. 2 Oz.
