Antique 12-gauge sidelock game gun with 28" blacked round nitro proved barrels that are fitted with ejectors, a tapered smooth, concave game rib, and a steel bead front sight. The barrels are London re-proofed under the 1954-1989 Rules of Proof. The right barrel is roll-marked "HENRY ATKIN" while the left barrel is roll-marked "7. BURY STREET. ST JAMES'S. LONDON. ENGLAND." Proved for 2-1/2" cartridges and choked light modified & improved modified. The case color hardened finished action body is adorned with fine English Arabesque scrolls. Both lockplates are engraved "HENRY ATKIIN" in banner. The dip lock action is fitted with double triggers, blacked and engraved top lever with gold-inlaid "1", both sides of the thumbpiece checkered and automatic safety with gold-inlaid "SAFE" ahead of the checkered safety slide. Best quality walnut stock with straight hand grip, drop points, fine point pattern checkering with borders, engraved stock oval (H.C.V.H) and similarly checkered splinter fore-end with Anson style push-button release, engraved escutcheon and center diamond. 14-78" LOP to a checkered butt, 6 Lbs. - 8 Oz. The shotgun resides in a single brown canvas case.
