English made 12-gauge game shotgun with 25” nitro proved dovetail lump steel barrels that are fit with ejectors, 2-1/2” chambers, Churchill quick-sighting tapered narrow raised solid matte flat-top rib and steel front bead sight. Top of the rib near breech is gold-inlaid with "XXV" and a gold-inlaid "1". Chokes are Modified and Improved Modified. Top of the right barrel is roll marked "E J CHURCHILL (GUNMAKERS) LTD" while the top of the left barrel is roll marked "39 TO 42 LEICESTER SQUARE. LONDON. WC". Coin finished boxlock action with blacked bottom cover plate is adorned traditional rose bouquets and fine English Arabesque scrolls, "E.J. CHURCHILL." in banner on both sides of the action body. "THE UTILITY MODEL XXV" is on bottom of the action body where "XXV" is gold inlaid. There is a gold inlaid "1" upon the top lever, rib near breech and fore-end escutcheon. The action body is fit with a hidden third fastener (treble grip), double smooth blade triggers protected by a blacked and engraved trigger guard which extends to a tang that is engraved with scrolls and the gun's serial number, top lever is blacked, engraved and the left side of the thumb piece is checkered, gold-inlaid "SAFE" ahead of the automatic engraved and checkered slide safety. Best quality walnut stock with straight hand grip, fine point pattern checkering with borders and a vacant stock oval. Splinter fore-end with matching checkering and Anson type push button release with engraved escutcheon and center diamond. 14-7/8" LOP to a checkered butt, 6 Lbs. - 1 Oz. Gun resides in a single green canvas Brady case with a black & gold leather Churchill label on the interior of the lid.
